The town of Busselton is well know as a holiday destination/tourist location.

half of the homes along the foreshore are owned by people

who live there for no more than 8 weeks in a whole year.

With this in mind the town approved the building of a suburb called Provonce,

designed to mimic little Italy and attract potential out of town home buyers.

Blue cobble stone, fancy gazebos and intricate metal work line the streets.

Interesting you might say?

You might also be interested to know that this fake little suburb

was built smack bang on cow shit covered farmland!

Plus they also destroyed one of our most treasured skate spots to build it,

dam them!

Lucky they made a super fun, metal edged bridge to skate in its place.

These ledges would hardly grind even without skate stoppers.

Its not a ledge but it sure is fun to skate.

Big Ders has this place sorted.

Riz and myself have made this trip a few times now.

Small parks in small towns down south always seem to have unique set ups.

Bailingup and Greenbushes are no exception, Nannup is also a great little park.

Unfortunately this time it was swarming with bmxers so we gave it a miss.

Riz hits a frontal rock on Bailingup's perfect metal mini.

Last time we forgot wax. We didn't make the same mistake twice.

Hurricane on the smoothest grinding coping.

Not sure what they were thinking when they built this bank in Greenbushes.

Its incredibly steep, but amazingly fun.

Riz got himself a nice rail ollie.

Industrial Area Upgrades.

The discussions were heated and long but it was finally decided.

Our beloved halfpipe would be upgraded.

The list of upgrades included;

adding more transition in three place

pool coping on transition

and a bowled corner.

as you can imagine these are significant upgrades

that will take a fair amount of money time and effort.

The construction plans passed council approval

so here is a prieview into the work conducted thus far.

Albany 2009 Day 3

The morning came too quickly. Slowly we made our way out of the house.

With L and T-roy leaving today we couldn't pass up the token group shot. Here at the Bung. Our pad.

We spent our last time with the boys at the snake. Big Elvis gets raw dropping in.

He was also making some serious ground on these floaters over the "hip".

Royce gets up on Biker Sherlock, some sort of massive long board. Look closely you can see the nose emerging from behind his shorts.

Lik snuck in a little schralp'.

Minutes before heading back to Busselton, Lucas back smiths for fun.

Loyce fought for this axle stall. He won.

The darkness came in quickly after we found Little Grove skatepark. This spot being visible from there. Rick ollies over to lippy. Our last night in Albany, we headed back to the bungalow and commenced chilling.

Albany 2009 Day 4

We left the b-low and began our staggered return to Busselton. After heading into town and indulging in some last minute purchases (which included the gnarliest potato wedges creation known to man), we returned to Little Grove for some mo' good times.

We left little grove and got out of Albany. Everyone was kind of bummed to leave. Pearled straight back through to Manjimup ( minus a couple of cobra stops), where a case of greens was purchased. Smiles came shortly after. Stopped in Greenbushes to scope the sketchy little park.

Right next to the ghetto little skate park is this massive open cut mine. It really was something. dudes have been diggin'.

Homeward bound. Balingup would be our last stop.

They have a crazy metal set up. Rick ollies the channel with MD's headlights working hard. This almost became our downfall. After reviving the the car we were on the road again.

Balingup is a quirky place. Crew under a massive shroom.

From Balingup it was back to Busselton. We tried our best to keep the party going but our tired bodies and minds were not willing. An all time weekend. Cant wait to commit it again.

Albany 2009 Day 1

On friday March the 6th we embarked on the annual L.E.C Albany road trip. With a four hour drive ahead of us we decided to stop off at a few parks to break up the trip. The first of the parks was Bridgetown.

The heat was a definite factor. Lik tried his best to destroy himself at the first park with many a stomped crooks pop over and consequently this slam.

50-50 transfer had to do.

MD went up and across and out the door.

Rick found a line while royce rolled away coolin'.

After the town of bridges we kept going towards Albany. Manjimup ramp tech has one thing on it's side, Jersey barriers. They proved to rather difficult to skate. Rick, nose to fakes.

Ollie over to tail.

Riz got up on many of the mini walls, this being one of many.

We went on to hit Denmark park where we were graced by many bmx hungry kids, frothing for the weekend. Over it in minutes it was on to Albany and check in to our house for the weekend. With Troy and Lucas a couple of hours behind we snuck in a quick hit at the snake run and retired for the evening. Eagerly awaiting day two.

Albany 2009 Day 2

We woke early, cooked up a hearty slop for breakfast and headed down to the main Albatross skate park. Well worth a look and fun was had by all. We could all hear the snake hissing and with Big L and Tee having never seen the beast before it was time. If you can't have fun here your insane.

Big L took to the wall like a wild man. Kirstie Alley oop.

One of the few street spots of the weekend. Big L came through with the goods. Back fives for days.

Saturday proved to be beer day which in turn made it beer night.

After several we rolled down to the ship near our place. Rick and Liz dropped some bombs. The night came to an end shortly after. Tired eyes and bodies finally getting some rest.

a quick Yazeed story for ya.
ok its the brass's birthday party and its come down to the final stragglers, yazeed has had a goon bag out for a while that is slowly getting passed around to the willing. Yazeed begins to tell me and the awake people a story of how recently he found someone passed out in a park holding onto a goon bag, he then tells us that he stole the goon bag of the passed out and put it away to save it for the right time. its taken me a few seconds in the state i was in to reply with "is it that goon bag"(pointing)
at this moment all eyes went to thompson as he was mid skull,then the payouts on yazeed for not telling us earlier. didnt matter but because by this time everyone left had hit the thing hard, so we all finished it.

We worked hard to make this spot skateable again,

20 minutes worth of shoveling and sweeping. Well worth it though.

This spot is amazing, a bank as far as your eye can see.

The only problem is you have to ollie up a curb

to get to the bank and the ground is as ruff as guts.

Rick takes a different approach, Ollie from the thin wall.

Deffinatly not an easy kicker to skate,

More flat than there is ramp and the run up is the worst.

Lucas isn't bothered, Backside 180.

Matthew Pavlich recently assisted BD and I by winning best on ground in the derby. As a result we were handed a 465 dollar cheque with no strings. Gotta love beer companies going all out. Today we made our first purchases. Recently we have found comfort in things we used to do as kids. Tiny Teddies, Yogo and hand held video games. Doesn't get much better.Picked up two handy little tech decks. Stevie and Joey Pepper. The Hot Wheels game is somethin else. If your lucky you might play it some time.
